Upcoming Disney Projects

So, happy April Fool's Day, everybody. I can't tell you how many times I got "fooled" today - I am the most gullible person you could ever meet... tell me anything and I will probably believe it. The GMail prank was pretty hilarious, I have to admit.

Anyway, on to Disney news.

Well, first off, I'm going to go a little off-topic for a few seconds.

1. I just wanted to tell you guys to listen to Alabina if you haven't. I don't know if they've come up with any new music, but I used to listen to these folks a lot when I was in elementary school. I'm not sure how I came about listening to them again; I just had this strange urge to look them up on IMEEM suddenly. It's a mixture of Latino and Middle Eastern sounds, and it's addictive. Their songs have been in my head for DAYS!

2. If you haven't seen 21 yet, I recommend watching it! My school is pretty much in the entire movie, and you can even see my dorm! (Well, from a distance at least). Oh, did I mention that Jim Sturgess is in it?! Or possibly that it's a really good movie? =D

Here's some eye candy.

3. To all you Anne of Green Gables fans, my friend recently informed me that this summer, Prince Edward Island is going to have a gigantic extravaganza to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the series. OMG!! It's like my childhood dream come true! I loved the series when I was little and actually started re-watching the films/re-reading the books only a few weeks ago! I loved Anne's quirkiness. And Gilbert Blythe. =P

Anyway... back to Disney news. Here are lots of new Disney projects coming up soon that you should look out for.

[1-3] JONAS BROTHERS PALOOZA

1. Camp Rock: Disney's newest DCOM is supposed to air on Disney Channel on June 20 (three days before my birthday!) I haven't seen any promos for Camp Rock yet, as I don't have the Disney Channel in college. Verdict? Looks good? Looks bad?

2. J.O.N.A.S.: The Jonas Brothers continue to reign on the Disney Channel it seems. This newest show, which features the JoBros as musicians who are actually undercover spies, is rumored to air on the Disney Channel in the fall. So basically... Hannah Montana is a regular girl who also happens to be a popstar. Now, the Jonas Brothers are popstars who also happen to be secret spies. Wow, Disney. Just wow. The premise for these shows just keep getting more and more ridiculous.

3. Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream: This will be one of Disney Channel's short series (similar to As the Bell Rings, I guess). The title seems pretty self-explanatory... a documentary of the lives of the JoBros on tour? Who knows when it's going to start airing, although I'm assuming probably in the summer.

(Honestly, WHEN did the Jonas Brothers become so popular, and WHY? They seriously came out of nowhere.)

[4-6] OH, RIGHT - OTHER THINGS EXIST IN DISNEY TOO

4. The Cheetah Girls 3: The third installment of the Cheetah Girls will take place in India and will be sans Raven. It is expected to air on Disney Channel in August, similar to when the first Cheetah Girls aired. I admittedly liked the music in The Cheetah Girls 2... the music was catchy and something I could work out to. Hopefully the music for the third one will be good as well... if it's Bollywood-type of music I would die of happiness. BRIDE AND PREJUDICE, ANYONE?

5. High School Musical 3: As probably all of you know, HSM3 will air in October and will be in theatres, not on the Disney Channel. Okay, I admit I LOVE my HSM, but I love it on my TV screen. They better be stepping it up a notch if they want to put this in the cinemas. Already, I think they did a pretty good job by denying Ali Lohan (hallelujah! yuck) and casting the British Jemma McKenzie-Brown as sassy Mini-Sharpay and Matt Prokop as Jimmy. But they'll need to do more..

6. Wall-E: This newest Pixar film will be released on June 27 (four days after my birthday!). If you don't know the story, it's about the last robot on Earth, who had to deal with the Earth's rampant consumerism and the large amount of trash as a result. The poor guy has to pick up all the trash by himself! I dunno... it looks, interesting I guess.

Alright, that's all I know at the top of my head. Be sure to keep reading for another update, because I'm sure there's a LOT more going on!

Disney Channel Stars Are "Just Like Us"... Part Deux

Ooh, two posts in a day! Fun.

Okay, so a few entries back I posted tons of videos that Disney Channel Stars made/starred in on YouTube.

Well... I've got some more!

I had known about some of these videos, but had completely forgotten about them when I made that post. Hence... "Just Like Us," Part Deux! If you haven't seen the first one, go a couple of posts back and check it out!

Also, I know that most of these are really old videos. However, I wanted to mention ALL of them and not leave any of them out, for completion's sake.

First off, we have the ZAC CAM, featuring Zac Efron back in 2005, when they were filming the first High School Musical. Awww, they were so adorable and young pre-fame!

Next, the Sprouse twins jump on the YouTube bandwagon! Here is Cole Sprouse (also known as Cody) in a "Not So Suite Life Mockumentary."

Then, there are some videos of the High School Musical cast goofing around during their concert tour back in 2006. The videos are supposedly being recorded by one of Lucas Grabeel's good friends who tagged along on the tour to make a documentary.

And hereeee is the first one of those! I totally love the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "come on, getcha head in the game!"

Anddd... this is Lucas in front of the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas REPRESENT!!

Speaking of High School Musical in Houston, I can't resist but to put up a shameless video of my sister and I at the HSM concert, which was being taped for the DVD back in December 2006. Yep, we're on this video probably four times. Please watch. And laugh. Yeah, I know all the lyrics and moves, got a problem with that? ;)

1:47, 2:29, 4:17 - pay attention to those times!

53 Things HSM2 Taught Us

I found this on the Disney Channel LiveJournal Community and thought it was HILARIOUS... I just HAD to share on this blog. And if you guys aren't a part of the LJ community I suggest joining it!

High School Musical is seriously one of my guiltiest pleasures ever. It's a huge cheese fest, and I LOVE IT.

53 THINGS HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL TAUGHT US!

1. If you wish to show your inability or dislike for dancing, it's perfectly reasonable to break out in a dance number.

2. College? It's not important, as long as you can hang out with your friends.

3. If your love is strong enough, fireworks will go off and lanterns will fly away as you and your boyfriend kiss.

4.Playing sports is a hint that it's time to break into song.

5.Don't worry about being rude/mean because in the end, things will work out for you.

6.School spirit is a must. Especially during the summer.

7. Your friends are not human and should always be addressed by the name of their school mascot.

8. Yes! You can paint your locker pink! Screw the school board.

9. You can be a chef, lifeguard, or golf assistant...no experience needed!

10. A guy can never wear too much bronzer.

11. Lakes are the equivalent of mirrors. They can show your reflection perfectly!

12. It is possible to memorize a 3 minute song over the course of 2 minutes...and sing it perfectly.

13.It doesn't matter that you're not a staff member. You can still attend any and all staff events.

14.The phrase "more moves than an octopus in a wrestling match" is something that can be used in everyday conversation

15. There are two bells that get you out of school. The first one tells you to start singing and dancing, the second announces you should stop.

16.Even though it is the last day of school, it's okay to leave stuff in the locker for the summer.

17.If your family is "saving pennies" for your college education and gives you a junky truck to drive, it is normal for their kitchen to have granite counter tops and a $7,000 fridge.

18. Pianos can float now. Go ahead, try it.

19. It's perfectly acceptable for a guy to wear girl capris.

20. If you're upset, just run through a golf course by jumping, spinning, singing... you won't fall at any point, and no one will stop and think "what the hell?"

21.You can send telepathic messages to your mom to tell her to pick you up just as you're finishing your breakup song with your boyfriend.

22.A resort can be highly successful when there are more employees than guests.

24.One family can apparently control an entire city, including all educational institutions in the area.

25. It's good manners to refer to your mother as a "backstabber."

26.Turkey imported from Maine is much better than any other turkey. In fact, it's fabulous.

27.Apparently, it is now possible to hire an entire high school to be the staff at an upscale country club.

28.Iced tea from England is blue.

29.Being a teenage paparazzi at school and taking multiple pictures of the same two people is not weird or creepy in any way.

30. It is okay to try to grope your girlfriend if she's leaving you, even though you guys have never kissed before.

31.When your girlfriend tells you that your shoes don't match your tie, you must do a stupid looking surfer move to see if she's right, you can't just look down.

32.When you frolic with your girlfriend in the golf course, you get in trouble. When you frolic by yourself and sing, nothing happens.

33.It IS possible to have any object in the world come in pink & engraved with your initials.

34. Don't change your friends, change your dreams.

35. "What team?" "Wildcats!""GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!" can fix any problem.

36. Basketball scholarships at the University of Albuquerque depend on your musical performance skills

37. Take two small saucepan lids and bang them together. You'll find they make the same sound as a large gong. Go on, have a go!

38. Tiffany's makes hair bands.

39. When your girlfriend breaks up with you and gives your necklace back, she obviously will somehow emerge out of a crowd wearing it again and singing.

40. Clocks get bigger if you stare at them and chant "summer."

41. When you’re singing about being fabulous, your shoes can magically appear on and off your feet at any given time.

42. You can be a male theater geek who wears sparkly hats and pink shirts, without any of the jocks who you kind of hang out with thinking you're gay.

43. It is now acceptable to throw grapes at your girlfriend's face.

44. Jumping from dangerous rocks is a great idea.

45. It is not at all pompous to give your girlfriend a necklace with your initial on it.

46. The high school marching band is on call 24/7 for spontaneous musical numbers.

47. Helicopters can land on a golf course with no warning.

48. When you're frustrated with your personal life at work, just take off your shirt and shoot some baskets. Your boss won't mind.

49. Sliding on the cafeteria floor like a penguin is totally acceptable. Especially when it’s the last day of school.

50. Italian shoes mean a whole new you!

51. Not telling your girlfriend about your new dress shoes you got from your boss clearly is a reason for her to be concerned and question your relationship.

52. It is worth risking your relationship with your friends and girlfriend for a college that closed down in 1986.

53. Humans can be imported from Spain.
