DC Games '08: Final Updates
As for the last challenge, did anyone think the challenge itself went wayyyy too fast?? I thought it'd be much longer. Well, Red took the whole pie. Then Yellow-2nd, Green-3rd, and Blue-4th. I felt so sorry for the British dude who got his backpack stuck in the teeny bicycle. Also feel sorry for the Green Team, they're the only team that never won 1st place for any of the challenges. Aww. So total final scores: Red got the cup of course, Yellow-2nd, then Green and Blue tied for 3rd. And all 4 charities each got $25,000. Miley Cyrus presented the Inferno with an award or something, I guess. Dunno, wasn't really paying attention but she left as quickly as she came (LOL at Selena Gomez clapping all unenthusiastically when she came on). Oh, and the Cheetah Girls performed twice ("Dance Me If You Can" and "One World"). That's about it, I think.
Well, here are some random fun facts from Wiki (which is where I get most of my DC Games updates):
- Brenda Song is so far the only Disney Channel star up until this point to have been a captain for the DC Games every single year for the past 3 years. Also she's been the captain for the Red Team last year.
- Cole Sprouse is the only Disney Channel star to return to the same team all 3 years.
- Shin Koyamada is the only Disney Channel star to switch teams every year (Red 06, Yellow 07, Blue 08).
Sorry for the short update this time. I've honestly lost interest in the DC Games for the past few weeks. Plus, school has started so my life is uber busy once again. Dunno how often I'll update this, so sorry in advance.

DC Games '08: Update
Brian Stepanek is SUCH a weirdo, I'll just throw that out there. To me, his humor is like a mixture of lame and creepy, with a dash of "I don't get it/That's not funny." But at least he's a bit more normal than his character, Arwin. If only we got to see a closer (and longer) close-up of the baby pics, then maybe I might find something to make fun of, *ahem* I mean, talk about. Oh, but I have to say. At one point, somebody mixed up a white, blonde baby with a black baby, and to that I say: HAHAHA. Okay, and as for the "drama" about Alyson Stoner switching teams... um, yeaaa, k, whateverrr. Like they'd actually allow that sort of thing to happen anyway. And the supposed "alliance" between Blue and Green is sooo believable too. Same goes with the JoBros feud. And whatever other feuds that are supposedly going on behind-the-scenes.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm so amused by how much they all try to convince us that everything is "real" that it ends up coming off as fake and over-the-top because they're trying too hard to make it as real as possible. If that makes any sense. The day I believe it's all real might be when I hear a slip of a curse word or see actual physical throwdown. But we all know that will never ever happen because it's the freakin' Disney Channel, and we're supposed to buy into the fact that every single DC star is an angel. *insert sarcastic remark of your choice*
Almost forgot to add. Jordan Pruitt performed "My Shoes." She's alright, I guess. Looks like pre-trainwreck Brit, only with an obviously better voice and range. Also, the international food thing gave me majorrr flashbacks of my St. Agnes days. I loved those Diversity/Multi-Cultural weeks, only because of the free food. Yall KNOW they were talking crap about the other people's foods. And what's with all the hate on the Asian food?? So freakin' what if its name is Stinky Tofu, grow up.
Well, I guess for those who are interested, I should probably spit out some relevant facts. Red Team won 1st, Blue-2nd, Yellow-3rd, and Green-4th. Overall totals: Blue and Red are tied at 40, and Yellow and Green are tied at 35. Pretty ironic. I was bored and tried to find some pattern while looking at the score board (to see if anything was obviously "fixed") but nada. But I did notice that all the teams have landed last place at one point except for the Red Team (they've been in 1st place and 3rd place twice). Only two more challenges to go, so we'll see who takes it.
Oh and don't forget: TCG3 premieres next Friday (8/22). Honestly never been a real TCG fan, so I'm only watching it for you guys.

Studio DC/DC Games: Reviews
Today I watched Studio DC and just as I suspected, my first impression was spot on. I HATED IT. So okay, yeaa, it's different, unique, original-ish I guess. It was sooo ODD though. I was so incredibly confused and a bit uncomfortable all throughout. It was SO random and disorganized. It went from one random scene to the next. Had no idea what in the world was going on at any point in time. The Sprouse twins were the hosts (by the way, although they DID grow a few more inches, they still look like they're 12). The musical guests consisted of the infamous father-daughter duo, those 3 brothers everyone is gaga over, and Tizz. The script is just bleh, and the Muppets were kinda annoying after all. I won't go into too much detail for those who want to see and judge for yourselves. This is definitely not my kind of show, but I do have to admit it's a good, clean, fun show for the kiddies.
Also, saw the 2nd episode of the DC Games the other day. Um, the cheer-off competition they had was so LAME and immature. We're definitely seeing more catiness amongst everyone, especially with the JoBros, but who knows how much of that is staged and whatnot. Holy CRAP at making some of them blindfolded. And okay, at first I thought they'd all be literally tied by the wrists but they were just holding on to the ropes, which I guess is more difficult. Well, flash forward and the Yellow Team won, 2nd-Green, 3rd-Red, 4th-Blue. The Green Team is leading overall, followed by the Yellow and Blue Teams tied, and lastly the Red Team. By the way, I read on Wiki that Brenda Song has been the only DC star to be Team Captain every single year since the Games started back in '06, and this is the 2nd time she's been the captain for the Red Team (the other being the Blue Team in '06). Hmm, interesting. At least no one can say DC is racist or anything, lol.
Oh, how I hate to admit this, but I need to get it out. So the JoBros performed "Burnin' Up" at the end, and for all of yall reading this blog, yall know I'm not a fan at all. But there was this one move that Nick did very early on with the microphone (he like flipped it with one hand) that I honestly thought, for just one second, was, well.... kind of HOT. OMG, I can't believe those thoughts even crossed my mind. Same when Joe went on his tippy toes for a couple seconds during the one lyric. Gah, what is WRONG with me?! I am disgusted with myself now. Nick is practically a decade younger than me, plus he's the same age as my little brother. Well all three of them are a lot younger than me. Sheesh. But yea, as pervy as it is, I have to give Nick some credit. Out of the three guys, that boy's swag is definitely on-point. Next up on the swag scale is Joe. Sorry, but Kevin just does NOTHING AT ALL for me. It'd be SO much better if they didn't all wear such freakin' tight skinny white pants all the time (*coughJOEcough*) or fold up the ends of their said skinny tight pants in a really fruity sort of way (*coughNICKcough*).
One last thing before I sign out. Referring back to the previous post about Selena and her thing for older men, I give yall a third example: Homegirl has a major crush on Shia LaBeouf (Source: IMDb). Sweetie, stick to guys your own age! And don't fall for the bad boys! ...Ha, I should be taking my own advice, LOL.

DC Games '08, Demi/Selena News, & Some Other Stuff
1) Disney Channel Games 2008
I just now saw the first episode of the DC Games. This is the first time I've ever watched the games, so bare with me.
So quickie recap of the first ep: All 37 DC stars on the bus, all giggly and cheerful (you can even hear someone say "Oh, I LOVE that show!!" HAHA). And ooo, I totally spotted Selena Gomez all cozy next to Nick Jonas (*points and laughs at Slimey*). So once they all get there, Brian Stepanek (aka Arwin from The Suite Life) makes the intros, meets and greets with the stars, and shows them all the shiny winner's cup. Then he reveals who's on which teams. The Sprouse twins supposedly missed the bus and are seen trying to rush getting to the games in a limo, thus missing the entire first challenge. Speaking of the first challenge (the "Chariot of Champions"), I would've felt pretty darn retarded if I had to do that. It honestly looked really hard to put all those pieces together! I would've been like, "Yall, seriously?? Do I LOOK like a mechanic to you?!" LOL. But I guess it's good that they not only test physical strength, but mental as well.
Anyway, Team Blue won first round (and besides the 20 pts awarded to them, also had happy hour in the muy special club tent). Then Green took 2nd, Red-3rd, and Yellow-4th. Oh, and Miley Cyrus performed her new song, "Breakout," but I hit the *mute* button so don't ask me how it was, I was just happy she wasn't actually playing in the games (and I bet SHE is too, considering her supposed "rival" is all up on her ex-man, LOL).
Other performers will include Jordan Pruitt (singing "One Love"), Jonas Brothers ("Burnin' Up" and "SOS"), The Cheetah Girls ("Dance Me If You Can," "One World," and "Cheetah Love"), and Demi Lovato ("That's How You Know," "Get Back," and "This Is Me" with Joe Jonas).
For more backstage/info/etc, go to the main DC Games site for the Inside Track: Overtime, hosted by Meaghan Jette Martin and Cody Linley. Oh, and just to warn yall if you haven't been to the site yet: be prepared to get DIZZY when you visit the teams and player profiles. Looks super nifty, but mannn I got DIZZY!
I had no idea they were playing these games for charity, that's nice. The charities are: Make-A-Wish Foundation (Red Team), Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation (Blue Team), UNICEF (Yellow Team), and Boys & Girls Club of America (Green Team).
By the way, if any of yall are curious as to who's all in what teams and when they're showing the next episodes, here ya go:
There'll only be 5 events featured, starting from July 27 to August 30 (the 2nd episode will air August 2, the 3rd on August 9, the 4th on August 16, and the 5th on August 30). Or, for a more detailed list of US airings, please refer here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1229903/episodes.

2) Miscellanous Reminders/Upcoming Projects
- DC Games '08: Episodes
The second episode will premiere this Saturday, August 2 at 8/7c.
Episode 3 = Saturday, August 9
Episode 4 = Saturday, August 16
Episode 5 = Saturday, August 30
- Studio DC: Almost Live
The premiere for this (really weird) show is this Sunday, August 3 at 8/7c.
- 3-Minute Game Show
So here's another (blegh) new-ish show hosted by Meaghan Jette Martin.
It premieres on Saturday, August 9 at 9/8c.
Um, I honestly don't know what in the world this is, nor do I care that much. Apparently it's a game show, and it's 3 minutes long. Supposedly there was a HSM edition of this last year, but I never heard about it. But this year it's the Camp Rock edition and that's pretty much where my attention span stopped during the promo. Sorry.
- The Cheetah Girls: One World
For all those TCG fans out there who surely already know, The Cheetah Girls 3: One World premieres on Friday, August 22 at 8/7c.
Still a bit far but we're seeing more and more promos for this lately so I thought I might as well throw that in too.
Famous BFFs, Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato, have a new movie coming out in January 2009 called, Princess Protection Program. Reminds me an awful lot like ABCFamily's original movie that premiered earlier this year, Princess. Anyway, there are LOTS of cast/outtake pics here: http://pure-hollywood.blogspot.com/. It's like the 5th post down.
So, uh, about that pic. That is SOME gown. What's with the red/blue sash thing?? Anyhow, she looks exactly like Belle from Beauty & the Beast! Sorry couldn't find any teaser posters or anything yet. Hopefully there'll be some next time there's an update post on this.
Not to sound racist, but you know how Demi Lovato usually always looks very Caucasian?? Same with Selena Gomez. I mean, if I had no idea what their names were, I'd honestly think they were BOTH white. Maybe it's just me, but for the very first time Demi looks fairly Hispanic in that pic. Both Demi and Selena are typically Caucasian-looking, yet they do still acknowledge their Hispanic and Mexican heritage, respectively. In WoWP, Selena's character is half-Mexican. And in PPP (not to be confused with Potter Puppet Pals, LOL), Demi's character's name is Princess Rosalinda. Also, let's not forget her Camp Rock character's last name of Torres.
I'm not dissing, don't get me wrong. I'm just simply acknowledging a fact that you rarely see nowadays. So many mixed stars acknowledge and emphasize ONLY half of their heritage and completely ignore or disregard the other half. Not mentioning any names, but some celebs who are half black and half white only "act more black" or vice versa. Same with those who are half Asian and half white, etc. I'm not Mexican or Hispanic, and I may not be a huge fan of either girl, but good for them for not being ashamed of their roots.
Also in the aforementioned site are info and pics from Selena's new movie, Another Cinderella Story (aka A Cinderella Story 2), which comes out on DVD, September 16.
Straight to DVD?? Hmm. And it says on IMDb that the release date is September 4, but I guess it got pushed back. I don't really blame them. LOL at the tagline ("Dancing Ever After") and totally say WHATTT at the storyline?! Instead of dropping the phone, she drops her iPod. Oh, and she's a dancer. So basically, Another Cinderella Story = a G-rated Step Up + A Cinderella Story. Wayyy original.
I'm surprised that Drew Seeley is in it. He's like HOW much older than Selena?? A DECADE?!?! Literally, they're exactly a decade apart. Just, EWWW. Seriously. Homie's 26, and she JUST turned 16 (last week, to be exact). That'd be like kissing your best friend's older brother. Wait, no, not even your best friend's older brother. Your best friend's oldEST brother who just finished medical school and is house hunting and getting ready to start his residency in another state while YOU just barely started high school. Meh.
Oh, and I JUST found out that in Princess Protection Program, Selena's character's love interest is 7 years older than her in real life (this dude named Robert Adamson). What is UP with all these OLDER men?! =/
LOL at Ashley Tisdale. Another tidbit from that site I mentioned above: about 2nd to last post it quotes Tizz saying how much she wants to shed her goody-good image and do more "racy" and "edgy" projects in the near future, a lot like how Jessica Biel broke out after 7th Heaven and did those, well, very naughty pics. =/ Oh, and kids... if you don't know what I'm talking about, just smile and move on. Yeakthx:)
Seriously, I canNOT picture Tizz in that light. Even though she is very well at a reasonable age to do such things if she wants, and I DO think she should grow up a little and stop acting like the tweeny that she NO LONGER IS (homegirl is 23 for goodness sakes, NOT 15!!). But to go in that drastic route is probably a bit too much, and I hope she doesn't go overboard. First, Maxim, and then what?? =/ Too many DC stars go bad nowadays, especially the really young ones, and it'd be a shame to see that happen to Tizz.

SayWHAT?!
Anyway, so I barely ever watch DC anymore. The only time I catch DC is whenever my younger brother turns it on right before we go to bed (which is like around 3-5am) because he likes watching the cartoons (Lilo & Stitch, The Little Mermaid, Dave The Barbarian, The Emperor's New School, Kim Possible, etc). But here are a few blips I've caught lately:
I seriously could've sworn these premiered already, but nope. The other day I saw a promo that said it premieres this Sunday, July 27 at 8/7c.
By the way, not sure if that pic is from this year or last year. But still. LOL at all the poses and randomness of it all. I'm easily amused, what can I say.
Um, yea. So they're coming out with WoWP's first DVD on July 29.
It'll have 90 min. of 4 episodes (Disenchanted Evening, Curb Your Dragon, Wizard School Part I, & Wizard School Part II), also including exclusive cast interviews, backstage and behind the scenes features like "Work It Like A Wizard," and much more.
I'm honestly quite surprised about this. I didn't think WoWP was THAT huge of a hit that they'd actually come out with a DVD for it. Or maybe they're just TRYING to make it a bigger hit, just like what they've been trying to do with everything else on DC nowadays (ie Camp Rock, The Cheetah Girls 3, etc).
3) Studio DC: Almost Live!Uhh, I don't really know what the heck this is and what weirdo (on happy juice) came up with it, but apparently it's like this new variety show that premieres on Sunday, August 3 at 8/7c. I only saw like a fraction of the promo for this last night, and I got immediately turned off by it, but that's just me and my old age creeping in I guess.
It's basically the Muppets with a bunch of the DC stars like Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Jonas Brothers, and the Sprouse twins. There will be singing, dancing, comedy sketches, backstage antics, etc. Miley Cyrus and the Electic Mayhem will perform her song "GNO" (what kind of song name is that?! and besides, never heard of it but don't really care either way), Ashley Tisdale and Kermit the Frog will perform "Bop To The Top" (LMFAO!!), Miss Piggy will attempt to join the JoBros by convincing them she's a long-lost Jonas sister (pfff uh huh okayyy), Kermit and Gonzo will join the cast of The Suite Life for a comedic skit (err?), and many more.
Oh how I wish I was joking about all this, but if yall don't believe me, just go here:
http://www.muppetnewsflash.com/2008/07/studio-dc-almost-live-moves-to-august.html
I know this is like SUPER late and I'm sure yall have seen it already, but I just thought I'd throw it out there since it IS Disney-related and it wasn't mentioned on here yet.
[EDIT: Apparently I DID mention it already. And just ONE post ago. Oy, I'm going senile, I swearrr.]
This movie is like the most ridiculous movie EVERRR. Seriously, there are countless "say WHAT?!" moments throughout. Though I must say, as ridiculous as it is, it IS entertaining. I like to think that it's one of those movies that doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm just still surprised I found that picture of the DVD, as well as the fact that there WILL be a DVD coming out for this. Just, wow.
Oh, and I just wanna say... I never thought that Robbie Amell was that hot in Life With Derek, but he certainly does look mucho yummy in this movie. Especially in that scene where he comes out of the pool. *drools* LOL at the "Adonis" ref. And LMAO at "I will deflower you in the shower in my tower" HAHAHA, classic! Oh, those Canadians. Gotta love 'em.
Also another side note: LOL at Tizz's name in WAY huger font than the actual movie title.
---
Alrighty, that's about all for now I guess! Enjoy the rest of yalls summer!!! :)

HSM Trois Pimping
Sooo... Ashley Tisdale's new movie, Picture This!, will be premiering on ABCFamily this Sunday, July 13 at 8/7c.
And Tizzy, herself, adds onto the mucho promos that during the movie she'll give us a first look at HSM3.
Oh, and what else?? Ah, yes, of course. Disney Channel is also giving us a first look at HSM3. When? ....SUNDAY!! (Yes, the same Sunday.)
It's Camp Rock all over again, I swear.
At least Zanessa pimped it on DC, and not Tizzy. 'Cause I do likes the Zanessa. <3

Camp Rock Review Pt. 2
I stumbled upon this review on IMDb that I thought was really well-put. I think it explains it better than I could, so here it is:
---
"Disney Channel Movies no longer what they used to be"
I have always been a fan of Disney Original Movies. They don't try to be more than what they are, and get the most out of the obviously limited budget they have. Disney had a great run of Original Movies in the late 90s/early 2000s, but ever since Disney caught lightning in a bottle with High School Musical in 2006, the production brand has been on a decline.
High School Musical was the pinnacle of what Disney Original Movies were. Low budget but good film, believable characters, and plot that fits the movie. What kept High School Musical's integrity in check was the fact that none of the movie's stars were household names yet. They may have been known, but no where near mainstream. High School Musical is what made the stars of the movie into household names and into the mainstream.
Disney was obviously so blindsighted by the success of High School Musical that they have tried to recapture that success with High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock.
HSM2 was the DEFINITION of sellout. Not only did Disney basically recycle the plot of HSM, but the entire movie was fanservice. Fanservice to appeal to the preteen/teenage girl demographic who spends hours a day online looking up the latest news on "Zashley" or "Zanessa" or whatever you call it. Disney knew its High School Musical fanbase wanted to see more of Zac Efron/Vanessa Hudgens romance on screen, as well as Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale romance. The producers sold out their artistic integrity for the sake of appealing to the fanbase. High School Musical 2 of course was a success and "THE BEST MOVIE EVER!" for the fanbase, because it was fanservice. But as a neutral observer, HSM2 was terrible. Like I pointed out before, they took no risks at all.
Unfortunately, Camp Rock suffers the same fate. After seeing the movie last night, I was disappointed. Once again, Disney sells out to its fanbase.
The movie is basically High School Musical at a summer camp. It uses a similar plot line with the same "types" of characters. It's obvious that Disney was just trying to capture the HSM lightning in a bottle again with this movie.
Disney takes its hottest property this side of Hannah Montana with the Jonas Brothers and makes them the centerpiece of the movie. That automatically will draw in millions of teenage fans who adore the Jonas Brothers. Unfortunately, the Jonas Brothers do not perform their roles well at all. I really think that this movie could have been far better if they replaced the Jonas Brothers with lesser known actors. This way the screenwriters may not have sold out with their scenes that involve the Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers roles are exactly what the fans want. Love, singing, and romance.
At least Disney channel saved some of its dignity by casting Demi Lovato for the role of Mitchy. Disney could have easily slotted someone like Miley Cyrus or another bigger teenage star in her role, but didn't. Like I said, a key to High School Musical's success was using lesser known actors in their roles, and I think using Demi Lovato was the main character in this film helped save it from total disaster. She did her role well, and could have been much more if the Jonas Brothers were replaced with lesser known actors to give the film some genuinity.
Other supporting/minor roles are filled with lesser known Disney Stars.
The movie's plot is basically High School Musical at a summer camp, like I stated before. I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't go into detail, but there are too many cheesy/unnecessary scenes in the film, obviously for fanservice.
The songs and choreography are very stale. No memorable songs, and all of them are rather generic and similar to each other. I would say the songs are worse than both High School Musical movies, but maybe because they are too similar to the High School Musical songs rather than being creative. The choreography is also boring. Can't we get creative like "Stick to the Status Quo" was in High School Musical, or do we have to be treated to the same generic "triangle formation" choreography that has plagued High School Musical 2, and now, Camp Rock?
In conclusion, I think that the film could have been much better without the Jonas Brothers. They are not fit for the roles, and were put in there to gain viewer interest. The movie would not have suffered with out them, and actually would have improved.
By no means am I telling fans of the Jonas Brothers or Disney to not watch this movie. If you liked High School Musical/High School Musical 2 and love the Jonas Brothers, you will love this movie. You will love Demi Lovato. I fully expect dozens of "Jonato" watch blogs(for those who will inevitably wish for Demi Lovato and a Jonas Brother hook up after seeing this film) to sprout up by next week. She will be the next "big thing" for Disney. This movie is made just for people like that.
But for neutral observers, and people who are interested but not really fans of the Jonas Brothers/Disney Original Movies, or who don't really know what Disney Original Movies/Jonas Brothers are all about, avoid this movie. It's too generic, cheesy, and linear. If you hated High School Musical 2, you will hate this.
I love the Disney Channel, as a 21 year old Radio-TV-Film Major in College, I adore many Disney Movies and Programs. But not this. I actually think the word "Original" in "Disney Original Movie" should stand for something, not just the generic garbage they have pedaled out since High School Musical.
Was High School Musical the last great, full of integrity and dignity, non-sellout, non-fanservice Disney Original Movie that Disney made? I hope not.

Camp Rock Review
***SPOILER ALERT***
In all honesty, it wasn't THAT bad. But it wasn't like, "OMG that was the bestest movie I've ever seen!!!" either. It was just so-so to me. I think that if it didn't get SOO MUCH hype and they didn't show the music videos and promos for it ALL THE TIME, I wouldn't have been so impartial to it early on. Well, those reasons as well as my impartialness to the JoBros. I still can't believe it got a 6.2 on IMDb, but actually right now when I checked on it, it went down to a 5.3!! WOW, big jump. I can accept that though. I didn't think it was better than HSM or HSM2 (which got a 5.5 and a 5.0, respectively), but I didn't think it was worse, either.
So with all that being said, first thing I have to say is how surprised I am that Nick and Kevin Jonas were hardly in the movie. Seriously, they were only in like 3 or 4 scenes. Not that I'm complaining that Joe got all the screen time, but yes, if I had to pick a favorite JoBro it would be him. By the way, Connect 3 is one of the most ridiculous band names everrr.
The music was actually okay. Again, if it didn't get so much hype and if I hadn't seen the "We Rock" video like fifty gazillion times, I probably would've thought differently. I actually liked "Gotta Find You" by Joe Jonas. The song that Jasmine Richards sings, "Here I Am", is also pretty good. Same with "This Is Me" by Demi Lovato. The supposed hip-hop and reggae songs weren't that spectacular to me, but then again I'm used to listening to a bit harder core hip-hop/rap. I really wish Ana Maria Perez de Tagle had a solo, she also has an AMAZING voice (her being in one of the hip-hop songs doesn't really count). Speaking of Ana Maria, she pretty much played the same character as she did in Hannah Montana, only a bit less dumber/ditzier. I don't know if I really like Meaghan Jette Martin's acting. She seemed like she was trying too hard to play the bad girl, so it came off as forced and fake to me. I also wish we saw more of Alyson Stoner performing. She only had like one solo moment and even that was cut short thanks to Tess (Meaghan Jette Martin).
As for the "romance" between Shane (Joe Jonas) and Mitchie (Demi Lovato), I think it could've been developed more. It's like they just started hanging out a bit out of the blue. Well, after they randomly run into each other, which resulted in them randomly running into each other a second time. Don't get me wrong, it was kinda cute and sweet at some points. I'm still a bit bummed that they never kissed. This is JUST like it was at the end of HSM. Urgh! Please don't tell me they plan on making a Camp Rock 2 and then have us wait until the very, very, VERY end for them to kiss?! Oy vey, that was frustrating.
There're just a few things that puzzle me. When I looked up the soundtrack on Amazon, I noticed that Jasmine Richards isn't listed as the singer for "Here I Am", but it's someone else named Renee Sandstrom. WHAA?? And I also don't get why she didn't use her character's name, Peggy, and instead went by a different name before she was introduced on stage. There are a few more things I'm a bit confused about... well, just things that I thought were going to happen differently based on subtle hints dropped but didn't exactly happen that way. But that's just me, so don't mind me and my natural state of confusion. Speaking of confusion, am I the only one who TOTALLY missed the character intros?? Seriously, besides Shane, Mitchie, Caitlyn, and Tess, I had NO idea what the names of the other cast members were.
So in case y'all weren't aware, Camp Rock is taking up the ENTIRE weekend, all up until Monday. On Sunday, it's premiering on ABC Family as well, and it's "the first Disney Channel original movie to have access rights to other cable networks of the Disney company from ABC to ABC Family in airing the film's screen debut." That's straight from IMDb, by the way. And yes, it'll be on ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel, as well as Disney.com. That's FOUR different places, y'all!! Besides its world premiere, JoBros is also premiering their new music video for "Burnin' Up", which features Selena Gomez as Nick's girl (*points and laughs at Slimey*). And if you watch the premiere on ABC Family, you'll get to see a premiere of a new episode of Jonas Brothers: Living The Dream. And as if that wasn't enough, they also finally showed a more detailed promo for The Cheetah Girls 3 (it sounds like the other songs besides "One World" are better, at least just based on the teensy clip I heard). It's premiere-overload, I tell ya!
Okay, I think I'll stop there. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the movie! These are just my honest opinions, so please no bashing of mine and I won't bash yours. ;)

Fairly Pointless Disney Channel Update
1) Totally Rockin' Summer Movies
Yes, yes, y'all! All summer long, every day at noon, Disney Channel's showing all your favorite movies all summer long!! Wow, that was seriously like verbatim from the promo. I'm starting to scare myself.
So here are the movies shown in the promo. No idea what particular days they'll be shown, though.
The Wild
The Incredibles
Nanny McPhee
Minutemen
Herbie Fully Loaded
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
Finding Nemo
Jump In!
Dr. Dolittle 3
The Cheetah Girls 2
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
Johnny Kapahala: Back On Board
Chicken Little
Twitches Too
Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior
Cadet Kelly
...Plus a few more that, in my opinion, will most likely premiere sometime too. Some of them have already been on in the past few weeks, and I'm betting they'll be on again soon.
Freaky Friday
Read It & Weep
Cow Belles
Get A Clue
Pixel Perfect
The Even Stevens Movie
Spy Kids 1, 2, & 3
The Princess Diaries
High School Musical 1 & 2
The Cheetah Girls
The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Model Behavior
My Date With the President's Daughter
Twitches
I would SO tag all of those movies but apparently there's a limit to the labels on here. *pouts*
2) Minutemen on DVD
Yup, Minutemen is now available on DVD, wootwoot! Its bonus features contain a never-before-seen extended ending, a behind-the-scenes look on the making of Minutemen, and Corbin Bleu's "Run It Back Again" music video.
A bit off topic but still pretty relevant: Every time I see the promo for this, as well as every other movie soon to be out on DVD or theatres, I want to punch my TV. Not because of the movie in particular, but because I HATE "The Really Short Report." It is THE corniest, dumbest, most annoying crap EVER. This is probably not very Disney-like, but I seriously have the urge to punch those kids. Am I the only one who feels this way? Honestly, I have never missed "Mike's Super Short Show" more than ever before. I never thought I'd say that in this lifetime. Sad, quite sad.
3) Hidden Talents
So ya'll know about the "Show Your Stuff" dealio, right? Where kids show their "cool" stuff? Holy crap, again with the verbatim. I need help. Well, you name it: from bugs, to coins, Pez dispensers, stuffed cows, toy cars, the list goes on.
Now Disney Channel has a new and similar dealio called "Hidden Talents." It shows a random kid doing three different talents and it makes you guess which talent is the correct one; actually, you have to pick a door, to be exact. When the correct talent is revealed, they give a short preview of the kid doing their special thang while their family is shown as an audience, all grinning and proud.
Yet another amusing thing for me to point and laugh at. ....Kidding! Sort of.
4) Disney Channel Games
They've been pimping this a lot lately, I've noticed. According to Mikey from Disney 365 (can't quite decide if this guy is metro or what), everyone sounds pumped for the games!! GAHH when am I going to stop with the verbatim-ness?! This proves to ya'll how much I watch the Disney Channel.
Maybe it's just me who's confused about this, but why don't they ever show the actual games on the Disney Channel?? I've only ever seen bits and pieces at various times, like who's all on what team, which team is leading, which team won whatever, which team ended up winning the entire thing, etc. I think it'd be totally interesting to actually watch the games in its entirety. This is a super odd suggestion coming from me, since I'm the most anti-sports person ever. But I'm totally for it, really.
NOTE: Make sure to check out Atoosa's post before this. It has TONSSS of awesome videos on the stars and the Disney Channel Games!
5) Miscellaneous
I am NOT pimping Camp Rock yet. For all you die-hard JoBros and Demi Lovato fans, y'all will just have to wait another week. But yes, as predicted, Disney Channel is pimping Camp Rock more and more each week.. day, even.
[EDIT]: Y'all know Camp Rock is premiering on June 20. I just found out today that Camp Rock is also premiering on ABCFamily on June 22. Like, seriously, WHAT?! Is ABCFam now merged with Disney Channel or something?? I've seen promos of Disney movies from ABCFam shown on the Disney Channel a couple of times, so it makes me wonder a bit.
Hmm, what other pimpage has been out there. Ah, yes. DisneyMania, Vol. 6 is out! That's being pimped quite a bit lately, as well. In particular, interviews with Demi Lovato (and Mikey asking her to sing), how Demi and Selena feel about being on the same CD together for the first time (dang those two are joined at the hip like whoaa), Mitchel Musso and Emily Osment talk about their duet (aww!), and Jordan Pruitt wanting to meet the other half of the Disney stars. Yea, ok.
[EDIT]: I just now saw Mitchel and Emily's duet of "If I Didn't Have You." OMG SQUEALS!!!! How freakin' ADORABLE are they?!?! I am so totally a Mitchel/Emily shipper, on aaand off screen (just like another fave couple of mine *coughHHRcough* LOL). I heart Mitchel, that boy's swag is RIDICULOUS.
Let's not forget: The Cheetah Girls 3 is still being pimped, too, every now and then. We're told to watch out for "Dance Me If You Can", because it's like supposedly the best and most dynamic dance number out of the whole movie. Alright, that was *almost* verbatim.
---
I'm probably forgetting something, but I'll stop there for now. This has pretty much gone long enough, considering it's supposed to be such a fairly pointless Disney Channel update. What can I say, I'm incapable of composing short anything.

Tall, Dark, & Handsome
So besides the upcoming CG3, what ELSE has been happening lately on the Disney Channel?!
Promos Promos Promos!! It's all about the promos. And the music videos, of course. The music video for "We Rock" is constantly played during commercials. CONSTANTLY. As well as the new JoBros music video from the movie, "Play My Music." I honestly don't think they show any other music videos anymore nowadays. A couple months ago they showed Raven's "Double Dutch Bus" and JoBros' "When You Look Me In The Eyes" quite a bit, but I haven't seen those in a while.
Oh, and let's not forget the DisneyChannel.com pimping of Camp Rock!! (*points above*) Lots of fun stuff to do on there, apparently.
So don't forget, people.... JUNE 20!!! One more month away! And in case you do forget, there's a huge countdown thingy on the Camp Rock channel online. No, not kidding.
I know Atoosa already reviewed this below (sounds great! I can't wait to see it! ^_^), but Disney IS still showing tons of Prince Caspian.
So yes, indeed. Much hype for the hunky Ben Barnes. And who's complaining?! Certainly not I. All together now, yall: *DROOL*
There's been a LOT of behind-the-scenes stuff, where they teach us how to become a Steady-Cam Operator and how to make fictional animals from scratch, yo. We chat with the stars, and I surprisingly find out that Ben doesn't use his natural British accent in the movie. Um, why?? Well, I personally like both accents. (Atoosa said it was Spanish, THANK YOUU. For the life of me I couldn't place what kind of freakin' accent that was, LOL.) By the way, anyone else notice he has a butt-chin?! Kinda cute after a while. Wow, this is getting random.
So from what I've been reading on message boards, many are raging over the romance between Caspian and Susan. I've never read the books (and hard to believe, but I haven't gotten a chance to even see the first movie yet), but all I can say is... that kiss looks HOT. And from the trailer, it looks like Susan makes the first move. You go girl!!
Last piece of randomness, I swear: I just want to say, I am SO glad that Asian girl on the Movie Surfers finally dyed her hair one color and FINALLY got rid of those hideous red ends. Nothing against highlights. But I was definitely not feelin' THOSE kinds of highlights.
3) David Henrie grows out his hair
Oh, David, whyyy?? You were so much cuter with short hair. *pouts* Well, keep an eye out for him on the slopes with some Disney interviewer named, Chucky, playing the new HSM2 and Cory In The House games on Nintendo DS, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Or you can just check this out (though his hair looks a bit longer in that promo I mentioned). By the way, anyone else think this looks MIGHTY cozy? ;)
Maybe it's just me, but I prefer short hair on guys. Take exhibit A....
How freakin' PIMP is that jacket?! Gawd, I miss Ricky. SO MUCH.
Moving on to.... Exhibit B:
Okay, I won't lie: I like Ben with long hair too. But seriously, this new trend nowadays where ALL the guys grow out their hairs and have it all over their faces is just NOT attractive to me. I think it definitely suits some guys, like Jason Dolley and Mitchel Musso.
Wow, I really randomed this post out the wazoo.

Made In India Event
On MAY 16 (8/7c), Disney will be showing a behind - the - scenes look at The Cheetah Girls 3: One World, as well as a special airing of High School Musical 2, featuring music videos inspired by the movie and made in India (mainly "Aaja Nachle", probably).
Taken from "Teen Scoop Daily":
"The Cheetah Girls Are 'Having A Blast' In India Without Raven-Symone!"
The Cheetah Girls, a phenomenally popular trio of teen singing stars, are in the middle of shooting their latest movie in India for the Disney Channel. Filming The Cheetah Girls One World for eight weeks on location in Udaipur and Mumbai has been a challenging but exciting experience for the girls, who say they’ve become big fans of India’s music and food.
“They told us before we left, ‘Girls, it’s kind of scary,’ but I love it! We’ve had a blast,” Kiely Williams told India-West on a recent phone call from Udaipur. “Bombay is so packed and busy — our car ran into an auto rickshaw and I freaked out. ‘No problem,’ said the driver!” she giggled.
“We love everything about India, and we’ve been immersing ourselves in the culture. I love kathi rolls — I call them Indian burritos.”
In the new TV movie, which will air in the United States in August and around the world in the fall, the girls encounter rejection from New York City music producers and finally land their big break with an offer to star in what they think is a Hollywood production but turns out to be a Bollywood movie produced in India.
Aqua (Kiely Williams), Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), and Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan) are eager to go, but everything changes when they arrive in India and discover the films’ shrewd producer only wants one Cheetah Girl to star in the movie. The Cheetah Girls One World is directed by Paul Hoen and also stars acclaimed actor Roshan Seth and Deepti Daryanani, a young Kolkata-born actress who starred in HBO’s “The Anatomy of Hope.”
The three Cheetah Girls, talented dancers as well as singers and actresses, have found new respect for Bollywood’s high-endurance performers, they said.
Adrienne Bailon said the film would have three or four large-scale dance numbers, including a massive and colorful piece shot at Udaipur’s Lake Palace. “I’ll be in pink,” she noted.
Williams, whose strength is hip-hop dance, says learning the new Indian style has been an eye-opener. “Hip-hop is a very introverted style, very rough and tough,” said Williams. “But the Indian dance is very feminine. The women are so graceful, so well put-together.”
Sabrina Bryan said that she had fallen in love with Udaipur’s architecture, dance, music and colors. But “being away from home has not been easy,” she said. “Communicating, with the time difference, is hard. It’s night here, and morning in the States,” she told India-West with a yawn.
The girls have not yet met any Bollywood stars, but they hoped to, they said. “What’s his name — Shah Rukh Khan? — we see his face everywhere,” said Williams. “We are trying to get him in the film!”
Sabrina Bryan feels the movie will present a unique opportunity for these girls to understand and appreciate a culture that they know nothing about. “We’ve really been able to take the Cheetahs to a new level, with this Bollywood aspect,” she told India-West. “India is something a lot of our viewers have not experienced.”
---LOL's at the title. Subtle, reeeal subtle.
So it looks like they're done with CG3, since I saw The Cheetah Girls in the audience dancing along to Fantasia's performance of "Bore Me" at American Idol's Top 3 Results Show this Wednesday (5/14).
By the way, LOL at the Fantasia performance. If you didn't see it, I strongly recommend YouTube'ing it this instant. Check out Simon's expression at 2:57. LMFAO!!!
And now we sing, dance, and throw around basketballs Indian-style =P

I promise I'm coming back to write another post this weekend. I already have a new post in the works as we speak. =)

Disney Channel Stars Are "Just Like Us"... Part Deux
Ashley, Vanessa, Miley to Appear on Idol Gives Back
But in case you missed last year's Idol Gives Back (or you don't watch American Idol to begin with) here's how it all went down. People voted for their favorite contestants as they usually do during the show. However, during Idol Gives Back, News Corp pledged to donate ten cents for each vote received towards the fund. Given that each show tends to bring in around 30 million votes on average, Idol would be receiving tons of donations from News Corp - and sure enough, they did, as Idol actually received 70 million votes that night!
On top of News Corp's donations, other sponsors of American Idol, such as Coca-Cola, Ford, Exxon, and AT&T, would donate their own significant sums of money as well.

Just Getting Started...
But first, here's a little bit about myself...

1) I'm currently a sophomore/junior/senior (please don't ask, because it's hard to explain) at Boston University. I'm originally from Houston, Texas but decided to venture up north (to the cold weather) to Boston. My last month here will be August.
3) Besides Disney stuff, my favorite movie EVER is Gone With the Wind. AMAZING! I'm absolutely in love with it.
4) Soul Meets Body by Death Cab For Cutie is my favorite song. I looove it and can never stop listening to it, no matter how hard I try. It's one of those songs that seriously makes me so happy, helps me de-stress, you name it. I've never heard a song with a title so fitting and a melody that has moved me as emotionally as this song does for me (or a lyric that describes that emotion so well: "a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere"). Hey, I've listened to it 500+ times since May 2006 and I haven't gotten sick of it yet. That's gotta say something.
5) I have an unhealthy obsession with the Juicy Couture and Kitson LA brands.
6) I love traveling around the world... I've already been to France, England, Germany, Italy, and Monaco, but I want to basically go everywhere if I could. I'm going to Sydney in the fall! *so excited*
