Tall, Dark, & Handsome

Ahhh these intercession classes are EXHAUSTING. I had this all written out and saved but ended up catching up on sleep for the most part of the weekend. Nice. Anyway, thanks SO MUCH for the sweet intro, Atoosa!! *big hugs* ^_^

So besides the upcoming CG3, what ELSE has been happening lately on the Disney Channel?!

1) LOTS and LOTS and LOTSSS of hype on Camp Rock

Promos Promos Promos!! It's all about the promos. And the music videos, of course. The music video for "We Rock" is constantly played during commercials. CONSTANTLY. As well as the new JoBros music video from the movie, "Play My Music." I honestly don't think they show any other music videos anymore nowadays. A couple months ago they showed Raven's "Double Dutch Bus" and JoBros' "When You Look Me In The Eyes" quite a bit, but I haven't seen those in a while.

Oh, and let's not forget the DisneyChannel.com pimping of Camp Rock!! (*points above*) Lots of fun stuff to do on there, apparently.

So don't forget, people.... JUNE 20!!! One more month away! And in case you do forget, there's a huge countdown thingy on the Camp Rock channel online. No, not kidding.

2) Prince Caspian-ness

I know Atoosa already reviewed this below (sounds great! I can't wait to see it! ^_^), but Disney IS still showing tons of Prince Caspian.

So yes, indeed. Much hype for the hunky Ben Barnes. And who's complaining?! Certainly not I. All together now, yall: *DROOL*

There's been a LOT of behind-the-scenes stuff, where they teach us how to become a Steady-Cam Operator and how to make fictional animals from scratch, yo. We chat with the stars, and I surprisingly find out that Ben doesn't use his natural British accent in the movie. Um, why?? Well, I personally like both accents. (Atoosa said it was Spanish, THANK YOUU. For the life of me I couldn't place what kind of freakin' accent that was, LOL.) By the way, anyone else notice he has a butt-chin?! Kinda cute after a while. Wow, this is getting random.

So from what I've been reading on message boards, many are raging over the romance between Caspian and Susan. I've never read the books (and hard to believe, but I haven't gotten a chance to even see the first movie yet), but all I can say is... that kiss looks HOT. And from the trailer, it looks like Susan makes the first move. You go girl!!

Last piece of randomness, I swear: I just want to say, I am SO glad that Asian girl on the Movie Surfers finally dyed her hair one color and FINALLY got rid of those hideous red ends. Nothing against highlights. But I was definitely not feelin' THOSE kinds of highlights.

3) David Henrie grows out his hair

Oh, David, whyyy?? You were so much cuter with short hair. *pouts* Well, keep an eye out for him on the slopes with some Disney interviewer named, Chucky, playing the new HSM2 and Cory In The House games on Nintendo DS, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Or you can just check this out (though his hair looks a bit longer in that promo I mentioned). By the way, anyone else think this looks MIGHTY cozy? ;)

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer short hair on guys. Take exhibit A....

How freakin' PIMP is that jacket?! Gawd, I miss Ricky. SO MUCH.

Moving on to.... Exhibit B:

Okay, I won't lie: I like Ben with long hair too. But seriously, this new trend nowadays where ALL the guys grow out their hairs and have it all over their faces is just NOT attractive to me. I think it definitely suits some guys, like Jason Dolley and Mitchel Musso.

Wow, I really randomed this post out the wazoo.

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't updated this blog in a while. I had to study for five finals and then went back home for a week and a half - it was a much-needed break!

Anyway, some cool news: this blog now has a co-blogger, my very good friend Analyn! Welcome!! She already wrote a rockin' post below mine about the new Cheetah Girls movie so check it out!

Another piece of cool news: last night, I flew back into Boston and guess who was on my plane? None other than the folks from Metro Station! For those of you who may not know who they are and why they are relevant to Disney, they're comprised of Miley Cyrus and Mitchel Musso's brothers - Trace and Mason (as well as two others).

It was kind of funny... either nobody recognized them or nobody wanted to go up to them, because they just grabbed their instruments and left with no buzz or anything. I would have gone up to them, but it was way too awkward. I'm not a huge fan, but I do like some of their songs, such as Seventeen Forever.

EDIT 5/20: So am I totally out of the loop on things; I had NO idea the Z100 Zootopia concert was going on this weekend in New York. Supposedly Metro Station was there performing... Saturday night! As in, the guys on my plane most likely weren't them. Maybe they were their backstage crew or something. I was so sure it was them! I mean, there were four guys, and they looked like the guys in the picture above... but unless Metro Station discovered how to be in two places at a time (which if so, they should really hook me up with that!) then the four guys on my plane probably weren't them. What a bummer. I am so crushed!

Maybe they have their own personal high-speed "metro station" that takes them to New York in like, a span of five minutes. Hey, it could be done... *thinks about that train that's going to run from Las Vegas to Disneyland*

Alright, I'm only kidding - in case you couldn't tell. :)

I also saw THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN on Friday. Overall verdict: pretty good movie. I personally enjoyed the first one a little better, though. The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe had more "magic" in it than Caspian did; Caspian was filled with way too many battle scenes and fighting. In fact, it was a little TOO violent for my taste; it was trying too hard to be like Lord of the Rings or even Gladiator. And let's face it, this is a PG-rated Disney movie...

Also, I have only read The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe (not Prince Caspian) by CS Lewis but I do recall that the battle scene in TLWW was like maybe 3-4 pages max. It was all like "The Pevensies fought. With swords. They killed the evil guys. The evil guys died. The Narnians came back to life and all was happy again." Whereas in the movie, the battle scene was like 20 minutes or so long and super intense. Hmm...

But anyway, the kids grew up quite nicely... especially Edmund and Lucy. And what else is there to say about Prince Caspian himself? Even though I would have preferred a British accent, that Spanish accent was kinda hot...

Lastly, I leave you with this LOL-worthy video of the Cyrus family at the zoo back in 1997. WOAH THERE Billy Ray's mullet! It really was "business in the front, party in the back!" Was it just me or did he seem more excited about being at the zoo than his kids? LOL. And check out their mom's hair as well. I also admit that while I'm not a Miley fan, she was the most adorable little kid ever in this video... what happened?!

More Disney Upcoming Projects

Yeah, so I knew there had to be more things on Disney's plate than my last blog post, so I just wanted to make yet another update regarding upcoming projects that DON'T have to do with the Disney Channel...

1. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - It looks like Disney wants to create the Narnia films in order of CS Lewis's publication dates, not in true chronological order. Chronologically, Prince Caspian is meant to be read fourth in the seven-book Narnia series. However, it was the second novel CS Lewis published back in 1951, after The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (which is actually meant to be second chronologically in the series, after The Magician's Nephew). Wow, talk about confusing!

Anyway, the four Pevensie children (William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, and Georgie Henley) from the first Narnia film will be making a return in "Prince Caspian," as will Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan the lion and Tilda Swinton as the apparition of the White Witch. Unfortunately, James McAvoy won't be returning as Mr. Tumnus. Sadly. Honestly, when I realized Mr. Tumnus was James McAvoy at the end of last year, I cracked up like you wouldn't believe. I was in the "Atonement" mindset and just thinking about him as a fawn was way too awkwardly hilarious.

The story of Prince Caspian will follow the four Pevensie children as they return to Narnia and try to help young Prince Caspian (played by Ben Barnes) claim the throne from King Miraz, his corrupt uncle. Mmm, please tell me Prince Caspian will have a British accent. Please?

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian will be released in US theatres on May 16. Also, rumor has it that Imogen Heap will return to perform a new song for the soundtrack! LOVE HER! I highly recommend her latest album "Speak for Yourself" - it's great!

2. Beverly Hills Chihuahua - LOL WHAT IS THIS. Supposedly, one of Disney's September releases will be Beverly Hills Chihuahua, which is a story about a pampered chihuahua from California named Chloe who gets lost in Mexico on a vacation. While in Mexico, she meets a German Shepherd, a young puppy, and other characters along the way who help Chloe find her way back. Drew Barrymore is going to star as Chloe, and Andy Garcia and George Lopez are her new canine buds. Other actors in the film will include Salma Hayez, Cheech Marin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Piper Perabo, and Nick Zano.

Personally, this sounds a little "Homeward Bound" meets "Paris Hilton" to me... does it not? Yikes.

3. Bolt - Yet ANOTHER digital animated film from Disney, this time about canines (AGAIN). Bolt is a canine television star who portrays a superhero character - and consequently believes his superpowers are real. One day, he suddenly finds himself stranded in his trailer in Nevada. There, he meets up with a female cat and a hamster with an obsession with his exercise ball, and they convince Bolt that his superpowers are actually NOT real. Bolt will star John Travolta, Susie Essman, Bernie Mac, Woody Harrellson, and other big name stars; it is expected to be released in November this year.

Alright... no comment about that one...  except what. the. heck?

Usually I'm not a big fan of Disney's computerized animated films, unless they're created by Pixar (and even then, I'm not a huge fan either - the only Pixar film I ever truly liked was Toy Story... don't even get me started on Finding Nemo...). So it's safe to say I'm definitely not excited about this film.

On another note, WHAT is the status on "The Princess and the Frog"? I've been patiently waiting for this movie FOREVER it seems. Disney already made a successful princess comeback with Enchanted, so what are they waiting for?

4. Raven-Symone: Talk about a fierce album cover! Raven's new self-titled album, which features the remake of Double Dutch Bus, is already described as much more energetic, dance-friendly R&B album than her last album back in 2004, This Is My Time. I totally believe it: Double Dutch Bus is much more "get up and dance" than Backflip ever was!

The album will be released on April 29. Raven's next single off the album will be "Stupid," so look forward to that! I'm sure Radio Disney will play it to absolutely NO END in the coming weeks. :/

That's it for now, although I'm sure Disney has TONS more projects planned as well! If you know of anything else, comment and let me know!
