Made In India Event

On MAY 16 (8/7c), Disney will be showing a behind - the - scenes look at The Cheetah Girls 3: One World, as well as a special airing of High School Musical 2, featuring music videos inspired by the movie and made in India (mainly "Aaja Nachle", probably).

Taken from "Teen Scoop Daily":

"The Cheetah Girls Are 'Having A Blast' In India Without Raven-Symone!"

The Cheetah Girls, a phenomenally popular trio of teen singing stars, are in the middle of shooting their latest movie in India for the Disney Channel. Filming The Cheetah Girls One World for eight weeks on location in Udaipur and Mumbai has been a challenging but exciting experience for the girls, who say they’ve become big fans of India’s music and food.

They told us before we left, ‘Girls, it’s kind of scary,’ but I love it! We’ve had a blast,” Kiely Williams told India-West on a recent phone call from Udaipur. “Bombay is so packed and busy — our car ran into an auto rickshaw and I freaked out. ‘No problem,’ said the driver!” she giggled.

We love everything about India, and we’ve been immersing ourselves in the culture. I love kathi rolls — I call them Indian burritos.

In the new TV movie, which will air in the United States in August and around the world in the fall, the girls encounter rejection from New York City music producers and finally land their big break with an offer to star in what they think is a Hollywood production but turns out to be a Bollywood movie produced in India.

Aqua (Kiely Williams), Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), and Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan) are eager to go, but everything changes when they arrive in India and discover the films’ shrewd producer only wants one Cheetah Girl to star in the movie. The Cheetah Girls One World is directed by Paul Hoen and also stars acclaimed actor Roshan Seth and Deepti Daryanani, a young Kolkata-born actress who starred in HBO’s “The Anatomy of Hope.”

The three Cheetah Girls, talented dancers as well as singers and actresses, have found new respect for Bollywood’s high-endurance performers, they said.

Adrienne Bailon said the film would have three or four large-scale dance numbers, including a massive and colorful piece shot at Udaipur’s Lake Palace. “I’ll be in pink,” she noted.

Williams, whose strength is hip-hop dance, says learning the new Indian style has been an eye-opener. “Hip-hop is a very introverted style, very rough and tough,” said Williams. “But the Indian dance is very feminine. The women are so graceful, so well put-together.”

Sabrina Bryan said that she had fallen in love with Udaipur’s architecture, dance, music and colors. But “being away from home has not been easy,” she said. “Communicating, with the time difference, is hard. It’s night here, and morning in the States,” she told India-West with a yawn.

The girls have not yet met any Bollywood stars, but they hoped to, they said. “What’s his name — Shah Rukh Khan? — we see his face everywhere,” said Williams. “We are trying to get him in the film!

Sabrina Bryan feels the movie will present a unique opportunity for these girls to understand and appreciate a culture that they know nothing about. “We’ve really been able to take the Cheetahs to a new level, with this Bollywood aspect,” she told India-West. “India is something a lot of our viewers have not experienced.”

LOL's at the title. Subtle, reeeal subtle.

So it looks like they're done with CG3, since I saw The Cheetah Girls in the audience dancing along to Fantasia's performance of "Bore Me" at American Idol's Top 3 Results Show this Wednesday (5/14).

By the way, LOL at the Fantasia performance. If you didn't see it, I strongly recommend YouTube'ing it this instant. Check out Simon's expression at 2:57. LMFAO!!!

And now we sing, dance, and throw around basketballs Indian-style =P

I promise I'm coming back to write another post this weekend. I already have a new post in the works as we speak. =)

Disney Channel Stars Are "Just Like Us"... Part Deux

Ooh, two posts in a day! Fun.

Okay, so a few entries back I posted tons of videos that Disney Channel Stars made/starred in on YouTube.

Well... I've got some more!

I had known about some of these videos, but had completely forgotten about them when I made that post. Hence... "Just Like Us," Part Deux! If you haven't seen the first one, go a couple of posts back and check it out!

Also, I know that most of these are really old videos. However, I wanted to mention ALL of them and not leave any of them out, for completion's sake.

First off, we have the ZAC CAM, featuring Zac Efron back in 2005, when they were filming the first High School Musical. Awww, they were so adorable and young pre-fame!

Next, the Sprouse twins jump on the YouTube bandwagon! Here is Cole Sprouse (also known as Cody) in a "Not So Suite Life Mockumentary."

Then, there are some videos of the High School Musical cast goofing around during their concert tour back in 2006. The videos are supposedly being recorded by one of Lucas Grabeel's good friends who tagged along on the tour to make a documentary.

And hereeee is the first one of those! I totally love the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "come on, getcha head in the game!"

Anddd... this is Lucas in front of the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas REPRESENT!!

Speaking of High School Musical in Houston, I can't resist but to put up a shameless video of my sister and I at the HSM concert, which was being taped for the DVD back in December 2006. Yep, we're on this video probably four times. Please watch. And laugh. Yeah, I know all the lyrics and moves, got a problem with that? ;)

1:47, 2:29, 4:17 - pay attention to those times!

EDIT!!
Alright, Miley and Mandy just put up a new video, and they explained why they made the parody. Glad to know that the "Disney Family" are all on good terms. They're a lot nicer in this video, but they still seem a little fake to me... but oh well, the world still turns. On another random note, Miley's accent is incredibly thick in this video. The Southern twang is OUTTA CONTROL, MAN!!! Or maybe that's just me.

Okay, so I've already written two posts that are kind of related to the post I'm about to write now. The first one dealt with all the Disney Channel stars' youtube, myspace, facebook pages... whatever. The second one dealt with my utter dislike for Miley Cyrus.

First, watch the two following videos... in order.

Yeah, so... I know that BOTH of these videos are made for people with an IQ of like, 2, and both have absolutely no real meaning to them, but I really do think that Miley and her random dancer friend Mandy really sunk to a new low by parodying Selena and Demi. It doesn't matter if it was a complete joke and if the four of them are really good friends, it just doesn't LOOK GOOD. Miley and Mandy, to me personally, made complete fools out of themselves by mocking Selena and Demi. Why do I think this? Selena and Demi make these videos for their fans. They talk about random things, but they're just trying to be likeable to their fans. What are Miley and Mandy accomplishing? Nothing but utter obnoxiousness. It was just tasteless. And that Mandy girl seems like she's a huge bitch. Great way to associate yourself with such friends, Miley. Good job. *eyeroll*
